Comment on a project

Talk about the work right beside the part you mean. The right people get an email.

Comments are on for project pages on computers. On phones they are rolling out to workspaces; if you don’t see them yet, they aren’t on for yours.

Start a thread

  1. 1 Sign in and open the project page.
  2. 2 Choose the comment button in the margin beside a block of text, an image or a file.
  3. 3 Write your comment and post it.

Each block has one thread. A badge in the margin shows where threads are, with a check when a thread is resolved.

In a thread

  • Reply, edit your own comments, and resolve or reopen the thread.
  • Mention up to 20 people with @. You can mention people on the project who already have a Link account.
  • Add up to four images of 10 MB each, and react with an emoji.
  • Pin a comment to a spot on a PDF.

If a block is removed in Notion, its thread stays reachable from the comment count at the top of the page.

Who can comment

Everyone signed in with access to the project can read and write comments. Visitors to a public page don’t see them. People who signed in from a public page with their work domain can write text only.

Emails

People you mention get an email, and so does everyone earlier in the thread when someone replies. You get one when someone reacts to your comment. Turn these off under Comments in Settings → Notifications.

Questions about an estimate

An estimate has its own short list of comments, for Link admins and the client’s admins. A client admin’s comment emails your Link admins.

Screens show a sample workspace in Link’s new design, which is rolling out. Inline controls are illustrations; use them in your workspace to make a change.
